The Camp for Neurodivergent Kids

Odyssey School offers inclusive, joyful summer camps specially designed to support and celebrate neurodivergent children. These camps create a welcoming environment where kids of all abilities can engage in meaningful learning, creative play, and authentic social connection—free from the pressures of rigid norms or one-size-fits-all expectations.

The summer programming is built around the understanding that every child learns and experiences the world differently. Odyssey’s educators and camp staff are trained to foster a sense of belonging by honoring each camper’s unique communication style, sensory needs, interests, and strengths. Whether a child has dysgraphia, ADHD, or is otherwise neurodivergent, they’ll find a space where they are seen, valued, and free to be themselves.

Activities are hands-on, sensory-friendly, and rooted in joy, curiosity, and flexibility—from collaborative art projects and science experiments to outdoor adventures and imaginative games. The camps are intentionally structured to reduce anxiety and overstimulation, with built-in breaks, clear transitions, and choice-driven participation.

What truly sets Odyssey apart is its deep commitment to inclusivity as a practice, not just a principle. The staff actively co-create camp culture with the kids, incorporating trauma-informed and healing-centered approaches that support emotional regulation, confidence-building, and peer connection.

Parents often express relief and gratitude for a space where their children can not only thrive academically and socially, but also feel safe and celebrated for exactly who they are.

about the camp

3rd Grade to 8th Grade Camp

Get ready to explore with hands-on activities built and tailored for students with learning disabilities and differences!

Odyssey School’s 3rd – 8th grade summer camp combines exciting elements in learning and play to empower students and help them discover new worlds. Our mission is to encourage new discoveries, build confidence, and strengthen executive functions, all while developing social skills.

Each day of the week will have a theme that will allow students to learn new things, think critically, and explore the unknown. Each day will be filled with both on-campus projects and outings into the community to foster growth and strengthen your student’s sense of community in their hometown!

Campers will become scientists, artists, actors, chefs, and more as we participate in activities molded to be sensory-friendly and fun!

Some highlights of camp include:

  • Conducting fun and safe experiments that they can replicate at home
  • Learning about different fidgets (and even making their own slime!)
  • Becoming a character in a short play
  • Crafting delicious and healthy concoctions as a chef

9th Grade to 12th Grade Camp

🚀 Odyssey High School Summer Camp: Explore, Move, Grow! 🌱

Odyssey’s two-week High School Summer Camp is designed to empower teens with learning disabilities through a dynamic mix of STEAM exploration, recreational activities, executive functioning practice, and real-world learning. Our mission is to help students build confidence, independence, and critical life skills through hands-on experiences—while having a great time with peers!

Each day combines purposeful on-campus projects with outings into the community or recreation activities. Campers will engineer structures, experiment with chemistry, explore global art styles, and take their learning on the road with visits to local museums, parks, and creeks. Along the way, they’ll practice skills like reading bus routes, budgeting, ordering and paying for food, and navigating public spaces.

Highlights include:

  • A Service Learning Day, volunteering with a local nonprofit to give back and reflect on community impact

  • Outdoor adventures, including a trip to parks, creeks, and plenty of water games on campus

  • Daily physical activity with volleyball, team sports, obstacle courses, and field games

  • STEM challenges like building bridges, technology games, and learning about our local ecology

  • Real-world life skills embedded in every activity to foster independence and executive function growth
